My journey
I started my career in HR because I believed that people are the driving force behind every successful organisation. Over the years, I’ve worked across a range of industries, leading strategic HR transformations, driving cultural change, and helping businesses solve their toughest people challenges.
As People Director at the CIPD, the UK’s professional body for HR and people development, I worked at the heart of the profession - helping shape thinking on the future of HR and leadership. I saw the critical difference between transactional HR and HR that truly enables business success. That experience led me to create Strategically People - a consultancy built on the idea that HR should be more than a function; it should be a strategic driver of growth, performance, and engagement.

I was previously Director of People, OD & Workplace at the CIPD – the leading professional membership body for HR and people development. With a career spanning retail banking and not-for-profit / professional associations, I have helped organisations achieve their purpose and strategic aims through attracting, developing and retaining talented and engaged people.
My professional career includes strategy formation, organisational culture, organisational development, talent acquisition, change programmes, business growth, joint ventures, employee relations and workplace transformation. I am a specialist in HR strategy for the not-for-profit and professional membership association sector.
I have led HR and talent development for employees in the UK, Africa and Asia. I co-led the cultural integration of the joint venture between CIMA and the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and have led multiple workplace transformation programmes. At Barclays plc I held various HR and LD roles including employee relations, volume recruitment, L&D and HR business partnering. I have facilitated leadership team development and coached leaders in attaining higher levels of personal resilience, self differentiation and leadership effectiveness.
I hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Personnel Management from Kingston University and am a Chartered Fellow of the CIPD.
